CURE VITILIGO
ABOUT OUR FOUNDATION
Cure Vitiligo is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between public awareness and research funding in the fight to find a cure for vitiligo. Founded in 2020 and based in South Florida, our mission is to support research, raise awareness, and empower those living with vitiligo through education and community.

Due to limited awareness, vitiligo research often goes underfunded. That's why all donations made to Cure Vitiligo go directly to Dr. John Harris at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, one of the leading researchers working tirelessly toward a cure.

Beyond funding research, Cure Vitiligo works to normalize the condition in society and provide those affected with resources, representation, and a sense of community. Whether you’re here to learn, support, or connect, we’re glad you’re with us.
OUR FOUNDER
Liana Marks was just five years old when she learned she had vitiligo—a condition that would profoundly shape her childhood and her sense of self. Growing up, Liana often felt isolated and misunderstood, frequently encountering uncomfortable stares and intrusive comments from children, adult strangers, and even teachers who bluntly asked, "What's wrong with your face?" These experiences left deep emotional scars, challenging her confidence and leading her on a journey filled with self-doubt, frustration, and insecurity about the striking differences in her skin, hair, and eyelashes.
Despite these struggles, Liana eventually discovered strength and beauty in her uniqueness. Her journey toward self-love and acceptance transformed her perspective, empowering her to reclaim her narrative. In 2020, inspired by her own experiences and driven by a profound desire to support others like her, she founded Cure Vitiligo. Her vision is powerful and compassionate: to not only find a cure but also to create a world where those living with vitiligo can freely choose their path—whether that means pursuing treatment or proudly embracing their individuality.
Through Cure Vitiligo, Liana passionately advocates for greater awareness, acceptance, and community support, ensuring that no one facing vitiligo feels alone or misunderstood.
